Aubin for organisations

Plan for the person, not the timetable

A live, GB-wide journey planning platform designed with disabled and neurodivergent travellers, for the organisations that serve them.

Transport authorities, operators and public bodies use Aubin to give people the journey they are most likely to complete, calmly and independently. Use it as your own branded app, connect to it through our platform, or work with our team on design, research and travel training.

Why it matters

Planning the journey is often the hardest part

Research with the National Autistic Society found that more than half of autistic people said fear of unexpected changes stopped them using public transport. The barrier was not the journey itself. It was not knowing what would happen.

Most journey planners optimise for the fastest route for an average traveller who does not exist. Aubin asks a different question: which journey is this person most likely to complete?

Designed from the edge

What works for travellers with the least tolerance for things going wrong also works for older people, parents with prams and anyone on a day of disruption.

The platform

Built on proven, open technology

Aubin runs on OpenTripPlanner, the leading open-source engine for multimodal journey planning, with a GB-wide dataset maintained by our team.

Needs-based journey planning

  • Routes ranked by how well they match each traveller’s needs, not just by speed
  • Live lift status, level boarding and on-board toilet information
  • Personalised disruption alerts with alternative routes
  • “Get me home” replanning if a journey needs to stop
  • Digital autism card, text to speech and an emergency contact
Aubin app screens showing a planned journey on a map with step-by-step options.

Live data, hosted in the UK

  • National Rail live running information from Darwin
  • Live bus information from the Bus Open Data Service
  • GTFS and GTFS-RT feeds for other operators and modes
  • UK hosting with service level agreements
  • Station facility information for every National Rail station

How we work

Co-production, not a checkbox

Aubin has been shaped by disabled and neurodivergent travellers since 2017, through focus groups, workshops, station trials and continuous feedback since our public launch.

We are a small, senior team with decades of combined rail and transport delivery experience. The people you meet are the people who do the work.

Aubin MaaS Limited is a social enterprise. Our purpose is written into our Articles: to make travel easier for neurodivergent people with accessibility needs.
